Back to school time thoughts.

Getting ready for back to school isn't the easiest when you have to split time with your child between two households! Hense why I've been non-existent the past week or so! Anyone else get that overwhelming feeling of back to school?

I always see those pictures or ad's showing mothers rejoicing that their little ones are headed back to school each year and they finally can get a break from the kids being home. I'm not a stay at home mom so I cannot relate to that feeling at all, and I wonder how that really does feel. Maybe someday I'll be able to experience that feeling myself! Working full time means that ALL year round I'm sitting behind a desk wishing that I was home with my daughter and getting to spend that time with her. I get to watch from the sidelines (and through Facebook) other mothers enjoy the summer with their children. Do NOT think I believe it's an easy task to be at home with kids 24/7 all summer, because I know it's challenging to be at home 24/7 just on weekends with children at times. I'm just saying those experiences of summer and being with their children looks a lot more fun than what I'm doing everyday at work! Even through those tough times, I wish that I could be at home instead. Although with each type of mother (stay at home, work at home, working outside of the house) there comes different challenges. Stay at home mom's wish they could get away just for a little bit sometimes, or want to contribute to the income of the family. Work at home mom's want more peace and quiet while they work, or more interaction with other people throughout the day. Working outside of the home mom's wish that they could stay at home. We always want what we can't have right?

For those of us that can only work outside of the home because that is their only option right now, just know that I am with you. Eventually I'd like to have more freedom throughout the day, to be able to invest more time with my daughter and her school activities., but for now, I'll take what I can get. Whether that means running her around to dance and other practices or volunteering whenever I can at her school. Anything that gets me more time with her as she grows!
